also, on the note of olivias sophomore album having a similar aesthetic to her freshman album. i actually am extremely excited about it because if theres one thing ive learned from taylor, theres a long, gruesome, historic pressure for women musicians to “reinvent themselves” every couple years just to hold the attention of the public. i think its so awesome that a) we’ve moved forward enough that not all women always have to do that and b) olivia is a badass gen z-er who is like fuck tradition fuck sexism im gonna do what i want and style my albums how i want! its very exciting to me

both because i think she really enjoys writing the fictional stuff and has found safety and comfort into it but also we know from the past that music is not only how she processes break ups but also tours like i just imagine shes writing a lot a lot a lot because shes processing these 4 albums shes performing for the first time and processing all of us (the crowds) but like w folklore i think its going to be fun to hear all the ‘fictional’ songs that are clearly loosely inspired by feelings shes felt herself like i hear august and i know its fiction but also like i know shes sorta been in an august situation so i think the lines will likely become even more blurrier between her fake stories and her own feelings
